It goes where I go. Following me through impossible hallways, surrounded by light and unrecognizable faces. Eyes staring from the walls, gazing upon me as I navigate this portal of madness. Head foggy, breath short, limbs numb, and heart in turmoil. I climb the stairs in search of an escape. Desperately clawing against concrete to find some form of respite. I lurk back to what’s familiar and hide there. Beneath the fluorescent glow and into the shadows. But it goes where I go. Following me into the furthest reaches of my mind. Into the shadows.
