I longed for love once.

The very thought makes me recoil.

I dreamt of a loving touch upon my skin.

I now withdraw when hands reach for me.

Centuries ago I used to laugh and smile.

My lips lay silent now.

I had wished to be entwined with a wandering soul.

I'd rather be alone instead.

I longed for love once.

Now I long for peace.
